Lovely pink diamond

Diamonds are a type of jewel which many have or hope to own one day. The beauty and uniqueness of these gems are just two of the many reasons why individuals, both male and female, love these sparkling stones. Diamonds come in a wide range of colors. In the present context, this does not necessarily refer to the color grading of the diamond but the actual colors of the finished stone which is sold to consumers. By far, the most popular color of this beautiful gemstone would be white or colorless. For those stones which are other colors besides white, these unique gems are referred to as fancy diamonds. The fancy version can come in a variety of colors such as pink, yellow, blue, green and purple.

The rare and expensive fancy pink diamond is mined in Africa, India and Brazil. There is also another mine of the Argyle diamond in Western Australia where the largest production of the fancy pink diamond occurs. Unlike other colored diamonds which are produced in the Africa, Brazil and India, Argyle Diamond mine can produce the pink diamond in the shape of the rock formation which is known as lamp rite.

Obviously those that are naturally pink are more expensive than the enhanced ones and it is those with the deepest color pink that command the highest prices as with any other color there are varying degrees of pink but it is those with the deepest color that are sold for extraordinary prices. It is estimated that the world’s total production of natural pink diamonds is only about 50 to 60 carats per year showing just how rare this stone is.

These stunningly rare pink diamonds are truly amazing to see and an even bigger joy to own. As with all diamonds the value of a pink diamond can be increased with the jewelers cut and the setting that it is introduced to. If you’re feeling generous and have a special reason to celebrate what better way to say I love you than with pink diamonds.
